Understand your own constitution
You need to know yourself to be able to keep a proper balance. The basis of knowing what your body needs is knowing what YOUR particular body is made of. In ayurveda they say we are all
made up of the 5 elements in different quantities and this is what makes you, you.
This is called your Parkruti (constitution).
Each constitution is divided into 3 Doshas:
- Vata (air, ether)
- Pitta (fire)
- Kapha (earth, water).
For me these are nice synonyms to figure out where to start with the journey to discovering your own body.
7.5 billion people on this earth so 7.5 billion different constitutions but having some sort of guide to help you along is always nice.

With the example on the right you would say that the person with this constitution is predominantly Pitta. So the highest chance of getting a pitta imbalance. Its like a cup of water overflowing.
If you are predominantly pitta it doesn't mean you can't have a kapha or vata imbalance but you are more prone to getting a pitta imbalance. That is why it is so important to know your body and
find out how it reacts so you can do something about it.
Your constitution doesn’t only say something about what food you eat, but it also gives you insights on how and why you react to certain situations.
This helps you, find your balance during your daily life. Whether it is at home, with your family or at work knowing yourself and your body better will save you so much energy!
The most important lesson I learned from this is that not 1 meal plan fits everybody!!!
