On our trip down south through France, Spain and Portugal, we came across a lot of precious spots to park our van and we would love to share them! Most of them we
could park for free and a couple nights for max 8 euros.
These are just the best out of all the nights. If you want to know the rest of them check out our Where to go map.
A very cute village on top of a 1000m high hill almost on the border to Spain. A very special spot because all the surrounding is mostly flat so on a good day you
have really awesome views. The parking area is right on the edge so if you park your van facing the view you will be able to enjoy the view until the sun sets.
Free parking. There are no facilities just a tap with fresh water and a place to dump your dirty water.
Praia Fonte da Telha
A good spot when you want to escape the busy city life or want to visit Lisbon during the day and park for free at night. This parking area is right on the side of
the beach with the beautiful sound of the ocean when you wake up in the morning and a long stretched beach for a nice walk.
Free parking and there aren't any facilities but I guess especially during summer you won't need much in a place like this. There are a couple of restaurants that
have outdoor showers so I guess you could use those when your having a drink there...
Praia da Ingrina
We totally came across this spot by accident. We were checking out the beaches a long the coast and saw some vans scattered around between the bushes on the cliff.
The one higher than the other. Even some big a** motor homes stood there on the bottom of the hill. We decided to try to get as high as possible so we drove up the hill on an off road track to
find a nice spot. With one of the best views so far.
Playa dos tomates
I remembered this spot from back in the day when we trained there so I really wanted to go back and park our van there. It is a really nice big gras parking area
right along the entrance of the beach. usually there area a couple of vans and bigger motor homes parked there so no worries of being to secluded. It is about 2-3 km walking to the city centre of
Quarteira which is really nice you can either go along the beach or through the dunes where there is a dirt track.
Free parking. There are no facilities but again this spot doen't really need any. A long the beach there are a couple of cold showers so just in case
